Making difference in the community
Annual ICT Workshops
We believe ICT should be taught properly in all schools as the future lies in ICT. In order to do that, our teachers must be equipped to effectively deliver mentorship to pupils. FlexiSAF holds annual workshops enlightening stakeholders in education on the importance of ICT and its relevance in the 21st century by exposing student empowerment and free educational tools.
Annual Kiddies Summer Programming
FlexiSAF has been actualizing Nigeria’s vision in line with NITDA’s goal of “Converting the potentials of ICT tools in National development into reality.” Having identified software as a tool for boosting productivity and means to contribute to Nigeria’s GDP, we promote software development from the grassroots an early stage. Consequently, every year a two week kidcoders summer camp is organized where teenagers are taught by our certified experts on how to get started with programming.
“Hour of Code”
FlexiSAF takes a new dimension in empowering our youngsters with ICT skills so as to tackle unemployment and eradicate poverty. Every year, FlexiSAF joins more than 77,000 volunteers worldwide in hosting Hour of Code program in order to contribute in helping more than 100 Million Kids worldwide to write their first line of code. As a continued pledge, participants are accommodated, cherished and fed. FlexiSAF also provides infrastructure necessary for the event such as computers equipped with internet and also distributes resources for participants to continue their learning journey.
Donations
We strive to donate infrastructure from the little we have, because it is shown that those that give are 43% happier. On the 11th of December, 2015, the management of FlexiSAF formally donated the Computer Based Test (CBT) Server and Application to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi. The CBT Server which can support up to 1000 concurrent students will be used in simplifying tests and examinations for large number of courses. With this capacity, 5000 students can be served in a day in 5 batches. The application will also be used in Post UTME screening for applicants seeking admission into the University.
